Todd P. Smith - Managing Partner

Todd is a seasoned entrepreneur and career marketer with over 25 years experience. His career began in sales and marketing with the then newly-created Saturn Corporation. Involved in most aspects of the brand’s early years including retailer selection, product merchandising, events and field operations, Todd’s passion for the totality of the customer experience was born.


After completing his MBA, that passion continued to flourish during his time at Chrysler where he played a key role on the integration team during the merger with Daimler. In 2000, Todd co-founded and led Clear!Blue, an innovative communications agency which grew to over 70 employees, three offices and $30 million in revenue. Clear!Blue won numerous awards for creativity, product launches, growth and culture. In 2005 the company was ranked the 20th largest privately-owned PR firm in the U.S. by PR Week and achieved the prestigious Inc. 500 list in 2006. Todd was an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year finalist and listed in Crain’s Detroit “40 under 40.”


In 2011, Todd became involved in numerous early-stage companies and helped structure and secure funding for some of them. That led to his creation of Dreamfield Capital and he’s now been involved in the growth of over 15 companies.


Todd has served on various philanthropic boards including the Southeastern Michigan Boys & Girls Club. He is an occasional Guest Lecturer at the Tippie College of Business and has served as a mentor for the Iowa Startup Accelerator. 


Todd holds a BBA in Marketing and an MBE in Marketing and Finance from the University of Iowa. In addition, he is a 2007 graduate of the Entrepreneurial Masters (formerly Birthing of Giants) program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Jay Lenstrom - Venture Partner

Jay is a world-class marketer who blends a proven track record of building companies, accelerating brands and leading teams to overachieve. He has held leadership positions for companies in the industries of CPG, Sports & Entertainment, Marketing Services, Healthcare and he has launched four new ventures. 


Throughout his professional career Jay e has be provided a tremendous education in launching new products (250+) working with 15 of Top 20 Fortune 100 companies and developing impactful programs for 20+ billion dollar brands.


Jay earned an MBA from Marquette University, a BA in Accounting from Nebraska Wesleyan University and a Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. 

Alastair Woolcock - Venture Partner

Alastair is an expert in High-Tech company growth and GTM strategy models, with over 18yrs experience.  He has helped build and advise companies throughout North America, Europe, GCC (middle-east) and Australia on their product strategy, positioning, channels, and sales performance.  Alastair has a background with Gartner, the world’s largest tech-advisory firm and sits on research councils in AI, customer engagement, analytics, and product marketing. 


Formerly, he was a Strategy Management Consultant to marque brands in the Fortune 250, focused on digital transformation, new market development, and the use of analytics.  He has held leadership positions with Long View Systems, Credera, Trafalgar Capital, and CAVU Global, where he helped expand and open new markets domestically and internationally.   Alastair has been interviewed previously on market changes by CNBC, Fox Business News, CRN Magazine and Oilweek Magazine.


Alastair won a Presidents Scholarship, University Victoria.  Was awarded the Top 40 under 40 honors in 2017.  He is a citizen of three countries and now resides with his wife and three children in America. 

Scott Thomsen - Venture Partner

Scott is a career marketer and entrepreneur. His 25+ year career has been spent as an executive in retail and consumer marketing with Fortune 500 companies, including Targe, Best Buy and IBM. He has led teams and managed P&L’s in excess of $12B. A passionate innovator, Scott’s expertise is transforming product merchandising for rapidly changing categories.


While at Target, Scott negotiated and launched the nation’s first-in-store iTunes sales program with Apple. In addition, he negotiated and led a product joint venture between Target Stores and Virgin Group creating a line of co-branded electronics. In 2006, Scott was awarded Target’s Leading and Learning Award in recognition of outstanding executive leadership. 


A marketer passionate about the holistic consumer experience, in 2008 he founded LaunchMedia, Inc., an omni-channel marketing agency used by the nation’s largest retailers focused on delivering world-class interactive experiences within retail store environments. Launch has helped retailers and brands such as Costco, Target, Best Buy, OfficeMax and SleepNumber deliver seamless omni-channel experience to their customers. 


Scott holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Iowa.
